# Welcome to Micless

Most podcasting advice assumes you want to book guests, buy studio gear, and spend your weekends editing audio. Micless is a 30-day experiment in doing the opposite: a daily, three-minute show about the craft of solo podcasting.

## Show Notes

Most podcasting advice assumes you want to book guests, buy studio gear, and spend your weekends editing audio. _Micless_ is a 30-day experiment in doing the opposite: a daily, three-minute show about the craft of solo podcasting.

In this short trailer, founder [David Stack](https://micless.com/contributors/david-stack) introduces the philosophy behind the show, why every episode is crafted from a written manuscript, and what you can expect in upcoming episodes.

## Transcript

Most advice about starting a podcast is about running an interview show.

It assumes you want to chase down guests, coordinate calendars, buy a fancy microphone, and spend your Sunday afternoons editing a two hour conversation.

But what if you just have an idea you want to share on your own?

Starting a solo podcast is one of the best ways to sharpen your thinking and connect with the right people.

It's also surprisingly hard to stick with when the recording and editing process gets in the way.

I'm David Stack, and this... is Micless.

For the next thirty days, I'm sharing one short episode a day on what it actually takes to start, write, and sustain a solo show.

We'll get into how to find original episode ideas, how to write for the ear without sounding stiff, and how to keep going when the initial excitement wears off.

And here's the twist...

I'm making the entire show without a microphone.

Every episode starts as a written script and is narrated using my Studio Voice inside a tool I built called Elora.

It's a few minutes a day for thirty days, perfect for listening to while you have your morning coffee.

Just one practical idea a day to help you get your own thoughts out into the world.
